The programme commenced with the hoisting of the National Flag of Sri Lanka in the premises of the Mission by the Consul General of Sri Lanka in Frankfurt, followed by the singing of the National Anthem of Sri Lanka, observed two minutes of silence to commemorate war heroes and all those who sacrificed their lives on behalf of the Motherland. This was followed by the Oath of Public Servants delivered in Sinhala, Tamil and English languages.
In her brief address, Consul General Madurika Joseph Weninger highlighted the necessity of working as a team to accomplish the Government’s vision and emphasized the importance of effective and efficient service delivery as it is envisaged in the policy statement of H.E. the President, ‘’Vistas of Prosperity and Splendour’’.
The Consul General extended her best wishes for the new year and invited the staff to partake in a traditional breakfast.
